Most Unturned communities live or die by their plugin list. Uconomy, Kits, TeleportGUI and antivehicle tools all install the same way: upload the DLL into Rocket's plugins directory, start the server once to generate the XML config, then edit that config in the panel file manager.

Permissions work through Rocket's groups file, where you map commands to ranks such as default, vip and admin. Because the task scheduler can restart on a timer and backups run daily across ten rolling slots, testing an aggressive permission change carries very little risk.

Official maps like Washington, Russia, Yukon, Hawaii and Elver ship with the game, and curated maps such as Buak or Arid load by adding their Workshop file IDs to your Workshop_Download list. The server pulls the content on boot and players download it automatically when they connect.

Mixing map changes with a plugin stack is where hosting details matter. Unmetered NVMe storage means a large Workshop queue never runs into a disk quota, and the one-click version changer keeps your server on the same branch as the clients trying to join it.

Unturned is not memory hungry by modern standards, but each loaded plugin, vehicle spawn table and Workshop asset adds to the single thread doing the work. A vanilla ten-player island is happy on 2 GB with 3 cores, while a roleplay server with economy, factions and custom vehicles wants 6 GB or more.
