Acceptable Use Policy

1. Overview & Purpose

1.1. Four Seasons Hosting, LLC, an Ohio limited liability company (“Four Seasons Hosting,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), provides game server, Virtual Private Server (“VPS”), web, and reseller hosting services (the “Services”) designed to enable customers to publish websites, run game servers, and deploy online applications.

1.2. This AUP aims to protect the integrity of our systems, ensure service quality for all customers, and maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

1.3. By utilizing the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with this AUP. This policy applies to all Services provided by Four Seasons Hosting, including but not limited to game server hosting, VPS hosting, web hosting, and reseller hosting.

2. Community Standards

2.1. You are expected to use the Services responsibly and in a manner that does not harm other customers, the public, our staff, or our infrastructure.

2.2. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and for ensuring that anyone you permit to use your Services also complies with this AUP.

2.3. Content and conduct that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable is not permitted, whether directed at other customers, our staff, or third parties.

3. Prohibited Activities & Content

You may not use the Services for any of the following. This list is not exhaustive; Four Seasons Hosting may treat other conduct that undermines the Services or its customers as a violation.

Illegal Activities & Content

Customers are strictly prohibited from using the Services for any unlawful purpose, and may not store, distribute, or transmit any content that:

• Involves unauthorized access to computer systems (hacking);
• Distributes malicious software or malware;
• Facilitates phishing or other fraudulent activities;
• Infringes copyright, intellectual property, or privacy rights;
• Contains child exploitation material or promotes harm to minors;
• Is defamatory, harassing, or discriminatory based on protected characteristics;
• Promotes hate speech, terrorist activities, or is excessively violent, incites violence, or threatens violence; or
• Violates any local, state, federal, or international law or regulation.

Network Abuse & Attacks

Customers must not engage in activities that compromise network integrity or security, including:

• Launching or facilitating Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks;
• Port scanning or network probing without authorization;
• Attempting to circumvent user authentication or security measures;
• Forging TCP/IP packet headers or any part of message headers;
• Interfering with or disrupting service to any user, host, or network;
• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to Four Seasons Hosting systems, or to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems;
• Using or distributing tools designed to compromise security; or
• Accessing another customer’s data without explicit permission.

Spam & Email

The following communication practices are prohibited:

• Distribution of unsolicited bulk email (spam);
• Operating mailing lists without proper opt-in/opt-out mechanisms;
• Harvesting email addresses for unsolicited communications;
• Sending promotional emails that violate the CAN-SPAM Act or similar regulations; and
• Participating in chain letters or pyramid schemes.

Resource Exploitation & Crypto Mining

To ensure optimal performance for all customers, the following activities are prohibited:

• Excessive consumption of system resources that negatively impacts server performance;
• Activities that cause unreasonable load on our network infrastructure;
• Running resource-intensive applications without prior authorization;
• Cryptocurrency mining or distributed computing projects without explicit permission; and
• Server stress-testing or benchmarking without prior written consent.

VPS-Specific

• You are responsible for the security, patching, and configuration of any operating system and software you install on your VPS;
• You may not use a VPS as a platform to attack, scan, or send abusive traffic to third parties; and
• You may not oversubscribe or artificially inflate resource usage to evade fair-use limits or degrade neighboring instances.

Game-Server-Specific

• You may not host game servers, mods, or plugins that you do not have the rights to operate, or that violate a game publisher’s terms;
• You may not use game servers to distribute cheats, exploits, or malware to players; and
• You may not run game servers in a way that abuses shared resources or disrupts other customers on the same infrastructure.

AI & Automated Workloads

• You may not run automated or AI workloads that consume system resources beyond your plan’s fair-use allowance without prior authorization; and
• Automated tools, bots, and scrapers must not disrupt the Services, other customers, or third-party networks, and must respect applicable rate limits and terms.

4. Content Monitoring

4.1. Four Seasons Hosting reserves the right, but not the obligation, to review content and usage patterns to ensure compliance with this AUP.

4.2. We may remove or disable access to content that, in our sole discretion, violates this AUP, applicable law, or is otherwise objectionable.

4.3. Monitoring does not create an obligation to monitor, and our failure to detect or act on a violation does not waive our rights.

5. Enforcement & Penalties

Four Seasons Hosting reserves the right to take action against violations of this AUP, including:

• Temporary suspension of Services;
• Termination of the service agreement;
• Removal of offending content;
• Implementation of traffic filtering or blocking;
• Invoicing customers for administrative and recovery costs incurred in addressing policy violations;
• Pursuing appropriate legal remedies; and
• Reporting illegal activities to relevant law enforcement or regulatory bodies.

The severity of enforcement actions will be proportional to the nature and impact of the violation. Repeated violations may result in permanent service termination without refund.

6. Resource Usage & Fair Use

6.1. All Services are subject to fair-use limits on system resources, including CPU, memory, network bandwidth, and disk space. You may not consume resources in a way that negatively impacts server performance or other customers.

6.2. Resource-intensive applications, stress-testing, benchmarking, cryptocurrency mining, and distributed computing projects require prior authorization from Four Seasons Hosting.

6.3. We may throttle, suspend, or require you to upgrade Services that exceed reasonable resource usage for your plan.

7. Database Usage

7.1. Databases provided with or hosted on the Services are subject to the same fair-use resource limits as other Services and must not be used to place unreasonable load on shared infrastructure.

7.2. You may not use hosted databases to store or distribute content prohibited under Section 3, and you are responsible for securing your database credentials and access.

8. Third-Party & API Usage

8.1. You are responsible for any third-party software, applications, or services you install or access through the Services, and for complying with their terms and licenses.

8.2. Any use of Four Seasons Hosting APIs or automated interfaces must respect applicable rate limits and must not be used to disrupt the Services or circumvent this AUP.

9. Reporting & Investigation

9.1. We encourage the reporting of AUP violations. If you become aware of any violation or suspect misuse of the Services, please contact us immediately through one of the following channels:

9.2. Please provide relevant details to facilitate our investigation. We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with law enforcement where appropriate.

10. Legal & Regulatory Compliance

10.1. You must comply with all applicable local, state, federal, and international laws and regulations when using the Services.

10.2. This AUP does not create any customer rights or obligations beyond those expressly stated in your service agreement with Four Seasons Hosting.

10.3. Our failure to enforce this policy in every instance does not constitute a waiver of our rights.

11. Updates to this AUP

11.1. Four Seasons Hosting reserves the right to modify this AUP at any time. Substantial changes will be communicated to customers with a minimum of thirty (30) days’ notice before implementation.

11.2. Continued use of the Services following any modification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. You are responsible for regularly reviewing this policy for updates.
