HOW TO CHOOSE A LOCATION

Latency is a function of physical distance and the route between your players and the node. Hosting close to yourself is the most common mistake — if your community is spread across a continent, the location that minimises the worst ping usually produces a better server than the one that minimises your ping. For a player base spread across the United States, Dallas is the strongest single compromise. For a group split between North America and Europe, New York City or Brussels keeps both sides playable.

Ping matters more in some games than others. Shooters and anything with player-versus-player combat — Rust, Squad, Arma, Team Fortress 2 — feel every additional 30 ms. Simulation and building games such as Satisfactory, Factorio or Vintage Story are far more tolerant of latency and far more sensitive to single-thread CPU speed, which is why our nodes use high-clock AMD Ryzen 9 parts rather than many-core server CPUs.

The table above measures each location from your own browser over a WebSocket round trip, so the numbers are real rather than estimated from a map. Locations without a published figure do not yet have a latency probe deployed; the servers there run normally. If you are unsure, open a ticket with your player base's rough geography and we will recommend a location.

LOCATION FAQ

How many server locations does Four Seasons Hosting have?

We run 10 data center locations across 4 countries. 9 of them carry game servers — New York City, Ashburn, Miami, Toronto, Dallas, Salt Lake City, San Jose, Brussels, Frankfurt — and 4 carry the Ryzen VPS lineup.

Which server location should I choose?

Pick the location closest to the majority of your players, not to yourself. Latency is driven by physical distance and routing, so a server near your player base keeps everyone in the same latency bracket. The live ping table on this page measures every location from your own browser, so you can see the real numbers before you order.

Can I change my server location after ordering?

Yes. Open a support ticket from the client portal and we will move your server to another location. Bring a backup of your world or save from the panel first so nothing is lost in the transfer.

Do all locations have the same hardware and pricing?

Pricing is identical everywhere — game servers start at $5.00 per month at a flat rate per GB of RAM, in every location. Game nodes run AMD Ryzen 9 CPUs (7900, 7950X, 9900X or 9950X) with DDR5 ECC memory and NVMe SSD storage, so the class of hardware is consistent even though the exact CPU varies by node.

Is DDoS protection available in every location?

Yes. DDoS protection is included at no extra cost on every game server and VPS, in every location. No configuration is needed on your side.
