EVERYTHING YOU NEED

Project Zomboid's Java server grows with zombie population, explored map cells and every workshop item you load, so plans pair DDR5 ECC memory with 3 to 5 Ryzen 9 cores.

Apocalypse On Arrival

Your server is generated and running immediately after checkout, so the first thing you do is paste mod IDs rather than install Java.

Instant setup · No Java setup

Horde-Ready Memory

Large zombie populations and dozens of explored cells push the Java heap hard, so instances run on Ryzen 9 cores with DDR5 ECC memory.

DDR5 ECC · NVMe SSD · Up to 5 cores

Workshop Mod Ordering

Edit WorkshopItems and Mods lines directly in the server ini, so map mods load in the exact order your setup requires.

Mod installer · File manager · Load order control

Attack-Filtered Survival

DDoS protection is standard on every Project Zomboid server, so a grudge from a PvP raid does not take your save offline.

Included free · Always on

Unmetered Survivor Slots

Set MaxPlayers where your RAM tier is comfortable, since we never sell slots and the player list is managed from the panel.

Unlimited slots · Admin tools

Nine Outbreak Regions

Choose Miami, Dallas, New York City, San Jose, Ashburn, Salt Lake City, Toronto, Brussels or Frankfurt so your group shares low latency.

ABOUT PROJECT ZOMBOID HOSTING

Hosting A Project Zomboid Server

Project Zomboid's dedicated server is a Java process that holds the whole of Knox County in memory, and memory use rises with the cells your survivors explore, the zombie population multiplier and every mod in your list. Running it on a spare desktop usually ends in heap errors. Here it sits on Ryzen 9 hardware with DDR5 ECC memory, NVMe storage and DDoS protection at no extra cost.

The panel covers day to day operations: a live console for admin commands and RCON-style output, a task scheduler for the nightly restart most modded servers need, network tools for the game and UDP query ports, and automatic daily backups with ten rolling slots protecting your entire Saves directory.

Mod IDs And Load Order

A serious Project Zomboid server is defined by its mod list. Open the server ini in the panel file manager and fill in WorkshopItems with the workshop IDs and Mods with the mod names, keeping the order your map mods require so their spawn regions resolve correctly. Add map folder names to the map line and restart from the console to let the server download the subscriptions.

Because storage is unmetered NVMe, a hundred-item mod list costs nothing extra, and unmetered databases are there if a mod or admin tool wants one. The daily backup rotation lets you test an unfamiliar mod knowing last night's working state is a single restore away from being back online.

Sandbox Vars And Spawn Regions

Difficulty lives in the SandboxVars.lua file for your save: zombie speed, strength, population multiplier, loot rarity, day length, water and electricity shutoff, and experience rates. Edit it in the file manager between restarts and your changes apply to the existing world. The spawn regions file controls where new survivors start, which matters when a map mod adds a town you want as the default landing point.

PROJECT ZOMBOID HOSTING FAQ

Common questions about running a Project Zomboid server with us.

Budget for the map as much as the players. A vanilla four-player server runs on 6 GB at $15.00 a month. Once you add map mods and ten or more survivors exploring different towns, 12 GB at $30.00 is the sensible choice, and long-running public servers with huge mod lists are steadier on 16 GB.
