ABOUT 7 DAYS TO DIE HOSTING

Surviving Blood Moon Performance Spikes

Every seventh night the game throws a coordinated horde at your base, and the server has to path, target and destroy blocks for dozens of zombies simultaneously. That is the single most demanding thing a 7 Days to Die server does, and it is what should decide the plan you buy.

Our tiers give three cores up to 6 GB, four cores at 8 GB, and five cores from 12 GB upward, all on Ryzen 9 hardware with DDR5 ECC memory. If your console shows frame time warnings during horde night, moving up a tier at a flat $2.50 per GB is the direct fix.

Editing serverconfig.xml Properly

Nearly every rule of your world is a line in serverconfig.xml: day and night length, loot abundance and respawn timers, zombie block damage, experience multipliers, land claim size, difficulty and airdrop frequency. Open it in the panel file manager, change the values, then restart from the live console.

Watch the startup log after each change. The server reports the settings it applied, which is the quickest way to confirm that a typo has not sent a value back to its default and to keep a public server's advertised rules honest.

Regenerating Worlds And Adding Mods

Fresh starts are common in 7 Days to Die, especially after an alpha or stable update changes world generation. Delete the saved game and generated world folders in the file manager, adjust the world name or seed in your config, and the server builds a new map on the next start.

Overhaul mods such as large content packs install into the Mods folder over SFTP or the file manager, and players need matching client-side files where the mod requires them. Automatic daily backups with ten rolling slots let you archive a world before regenerating it.

7 DAYS TO DIE HOSTING FAQ

Common questions about running a 7 Days to Die server with us.

Four to six survivors on a standard map are fine at 6 GB for $15.00 per month. Eight players, or any group running overhaul mods, should use the 8 GB tier with four cores at $20.00 per month. Large public servers with big maps benefit from 16 GB and its five cores.
