Is Google Having A Hard Time Making A Decision?
Well boys and girls of the webmasters world, it would seem you have a choice between how you would like to get more traffic to your website(s). Those of you who have been at this for a while may be saying “Yea . . . so, what else is new?”. And, maybe it’s just me actually starting to grow up a bit in this business, but I would have to agree. The pros like SEOP Inc have known all about this for a while. It would seem that because of the way Google ranks a website you can take multiple approaches with driving traffic. As everyone knows, Google uses a large number (how many?) of variables to determine the trust and rank of a website. Given that fact, just because you fail in one category, doesn’t mean you can’t excel in another. It all averages out.
Well, that’s all great and good, but it seems kind of wishy washy to me. For instance, I’ve never been a big fan the way Google counts links. To me it’s always seemed like an easy way to determine how good a website is. Sure, computers are still not smart enough yet to read a web page and know if it’s as good as Shakespeare, or as drivel as Bill Shatner. And, it’s going to be a few years before that does happen. But, the good news is they do seem to be getting better at it. That’s great news for all of us on the web. Content providers, and content consumers alike.
