Web Hosting Tips: Control Panel

Web-based control panel is a standard feature offered by every web hosting plan available on the market. You can control various aspects of the cheap hosting space from the control panel by accessing it directly using a standard web browser. Of course, there are several features that are essential; you must have these features even when you are getting a cheap web hosting.

Make sure you can manage your hosting space easily using a web-based file manager. FTP is definitely better if you are uploading large files or a lot of files to the server, but web-based file manager is so much easier to use when you want to make small changes or upload a single file to the server.

The control panel your web hosting company is offering must also grant access to email accounts and management. Not only will you be able to create email addresses, you will also be able to check the mails and start newsletters easily.

Domain management is another feature some web-based control panels are also offering. If you are managing multiple sites hosted on one server, being able to manage domain names is certainly a huge plus. Make sure you can also add and remove domain names anytime you want.

Ever Heard Good SEO Company Stories?

It’s funny, when I try to tell people what I do for a living. I used to go into this long winded speech about search engines, rankings, link campaigns, and building good content that is both friendly to search engines, and useful to people. After that I don’t know how many glassy eyed stares, I decided to work a bit on my elevator pitch. So, when people ask me what I do now, I tell them I market and promote websites. That seems both simple enough for them to understand, and dry enough for them not to want to hear anything more about it. It’s not that I don’t enjoy talking about my work; it’s just that most people get really lost when I get into the details of it.

Its rare occasions that I use my elevator pitch on a techno savvy individual. But when I do like the other day, I may often get a response something like “Is that market for search engines or for people?” I was quite surprised with their response, but I was then more willing to explain on the virtues of using a SEO company for the website promotion. It was an interesting conversation, and one that may eventually lead to some work for the business. They didn’t really know anyone that had succeeded with good SEO work of their sites, and quite interested in what I had to share. I’m sure, that with a little successful SEO of their website, I’ll have a happy customer for life.
